Armenian Prime Minister discusses cooperation with World Bank

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received the regional director of World Bank for the South Caucasus and Central Asia, Asad Alam, on September 12.During the meeting the parties discussed the programs being implemented in the framework of cooperation, as well as the world economic situation and possible future developments.Tigran Sargsyan presented projects of reforms in the Armenian economy to Assad Alan.The sides stressed the importance of deepening cooperation between the government of Armenia and the World Bank.

Russian and Armenia to discuss economic cooperation

The Kremlin press service published the agenda of the negotiations between Russian and Armenian presidents which will be held February 25 in St. Petersburg News.am reports.President Dmitry Medvedev and his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan will focus on the development of economic and investment cooperation, taking into account the fact that Russia is the leading foreign trade partner of Armenia, the report says.

The IMF has concluded the first overview of the anti-crisis economicprogram of Armenia. Yerevan may receive a loan equal to $115.2million. Protests at Armenian president’s residence

Approximately 200 employees of the Nairit company have gathered at theresidence of Armenian president with protests. They demand wage debtsbe paid off. The company’s head, Vaan Melkonyan, arrived at the scene.According to Panorama.am, Melkonyan and 5 employees were invited tothe residence.Melkonyan said that the factory owes wages for over three months.
